Four top-10s highlight five-race stretch for VanderBeek

Zack VanderBeek and the 33z Racing team embarked on a five-day journey June 10-14 with the USMTS Casey's Cup Series, and overall 'The Z-Man" had a strong showing over the course of 120 hours on the road.

On Wednesday, the week kicked off at the KRA Speedway in Willmar, Minn., and VanderBeek finished fifth at the end of the 40-lap main event in his first visit to the track. Thursday the venue was the half-mile Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minn., where a 16th-place finish would prove to be the lowest finishing position of the five days.

Friday and Saturday it was off to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., where the USMTS Modifieds joined the UMP Hell Tour late models for the 17th annual Masters event. On Friday, VanderBeek recorded a ninth-place finish and then improved to finish sixth on Saturday while passing nine cars and earning the race's hard charger honors.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, where the No. 33z Casey's General Stores/Sput's-powered LG2 chassis passed six cars en route to a sixth-place finish.

Before heading home, the team will take in a USRA Modified show on Friday at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
