Z-Man wraps up Winter Meltdown with runner-up

Zack VanderBeek and the 33z Racing team wrapped up the USMTS MVT Gulf Coast Border Region this past weekend, March 6-8, with a three-day event at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., for the 21st Annual Winter Meltdown.

Rainy and cold weather pushed the vent back one day, and on Friday the ‘Z-Man’ started 20th and wound up 15th in the main event.

Saturday saw VanderBeek slide into the main event with a provisional, starting 25th and finishing 20th.

Much like the previous weekend, everything came together on the final day and this time VanderBeek roared from 9th on the grid to a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin.
